About the Book
The work is mainly an analytical study of Sukracharya’s code so that the data of Hindu Sociology collected here reflect generally those phases of Indian cultural evolution which have influenced the authors of the Sukra cycle. This Hindu Sociology therefore is more or less a statical picture and represents chiefly such landmarks in the culture history of the Hindus as are embodied in the single document Sukraniti.
The present volume is divided into two books: (1) Non-Political and, (2) Political.
Book I (Non-Political) comprise:
•Relativity of the Nitisastras
•The Data of Ancient Indian Geography
•The Data of Ancient Indian Ethnology
•The Data of Ancient Indian Mineralogy
•The Data of Ancient Indian Botany
•The Data of Ancient Indian Zoology
•Appendices by Dr. Seal
Book II (Political) comprise:
•A Preface to Hindu Politics
•The Economic Foundations of the State
•The Philosophical Affiliations of Sukra’s Materialism
•The Categories of International Law
