About the Author / Editor
Monika Kannan is Professor and Head, Department of Geography, Sophia Girls’ College (Autonomous), Ajmer. She is engaged in teaching and research for the last 18 years, contributing specifically in the areas of Crime Mapping and Analysis, Geopolitics, Gender Studies, GIS and Remote Sensing, Juvenile Delinquencies and Border Disputes. She has to her credit eight books and 64 research papers published in journals and magazines of national and international repute.
Dr Kannan has received several awards such as the Certificate of Excellence by France Congress, Paris, Certificate of Merit by Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Government of Rajasthan and National Young Geographer Award for her exemplary contributions in the field of research. Dr Kannan is the Chief Editor of Khoj – The International Peer Reviewed Journal of Geography, besides being on the editorial boards of several other journals.
Shilpi Yadav is an Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Sophia Girls’ College (Autonomous), Ajmer. She has a teaching and research experience of six years. The major fields of her interest are Environment, Climate Change, Urban Infrastructure, Border Disputes and Geopolitics. She has published a number of research papers and has also acted as a resource person for a Geospatial Training Programme.
